NJPSA is a professional association dedicated to the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning in New Jersey. Since 1981, NJPSA has taken the lead in providing the highest quality professional development opportunities for its members. Representing more than 7,000 principals, vice principals, supervisors, directors, assistant superintendents, superintendents and chief school administrators, NJPSA has redefined professionalism for both practicing and aspiring school leaders.

2005–2010 Goals

The New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association recognizes that strong leadership is essential to educational excellence in our schools. NJPSA is dedicated to assisting school leaders promote effective teaching and student learning. NJPSA asserts itself on the local, county, state and national levels and focuses on school quality and the professional leadership needs of all school administrators and supervisors.

  • To maintain and enhance the reorganization of NJPSA throughout the state and nation as the preeminent organization for elementary, middle, secondary and district level administrators.
  • To increase membership and active participation by enhancing member services and providing increased opportunities for members to participate in NJPSA’s decision making process.
  • To be proactive in addressing critical and emerging issues relevant to school leadership.
  • To maintain and expand mutually beneficial relationships with business, higher education and financial communities.
  • To recognize and understand the expanded responsibilities of school leaders in the 21st century and their essential role in prompting student achievement.
