NJPSA Executive Director, Patricia Wright, Announces the Appointment of Two New Employees: Daniel Higgins and Robert T. Murphy.

On September 1, 2012, Dan Higgins will become the Director of Strategic Communications and Public Relations—a new NJPSA position. Dan will be responsible for the promotion of NJPSA/FEA, and for delivering core messages to internal and external constituencies through publications, media relations, and electronic communications. Dan previously served as the Executive Director of University Communications at Rider University and as Executive Director of University Relations at Kean University. His experience in New Jersey government includes leadership roles on the staffs of Governor Jim Florio, US Representative Rob Andrews, and Assemblyman Louis Greenwald. Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University and a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University.
Bob Murphy will assume the position of Director of Retirement Services on October 1, 2012 due to the retirement of Richard Klockner. Bob will retire after serving 36 years as an educator, holding positions as Supervisor, Assistant Principal, Middle School Principal, and High School Principal. Bob was honored as the HS/Met Life Principal of the Year in 2006. He has been active in NJPSA for many years, serving on the Middle Level and Secondary Level Committees, as a member of the Council representing Middlesex County, serving as a Member of the Board, State Coordinator for NASSP, and as Vice-President, and President-Elect. Bob completed his term as President of NJPSA in June 2012.
